Here at UFABC we are beginning to offer some undergraduate classes in English. This is called English-medium instruction in the academic literature.

I have prepared material to help students do their best when taking classes in English.

Bilingual glossary of Classroom terminology (stressed syllables marked in bold)

Glossary of false cognates frequently used in a university setting

Sample glossary for a specific course - Introduction to Stochastic Processes (stressed syllables marked in red)

Signposting - good expressions to use in a classroom

I also recommend consulting the Cambridge Learner's Dictionary when you have a question about pronunciation, stress, prepositions, if a noun is countable [C] or uncountable [U], and if a word is common or not. (SAMPLE: economics)
